The 2nd World Parkinson Congress will provide an international forum for the latest scientific discoveries, medical practices and initiatives for people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD). The Congress will showcase the most current and important developments in the world of PD, in three main areas: medical and scientific research; education and training; and quality of life and care.

The unique aspect of the 2nd WPC is that it will bring the entire PD community together to give a global perspective on all aspects of the condition. This cross-pollination of the PD community allows for unique educational and collaborative opportunities that benefit the whole community. In the spirit of global cooperation, the program will address an array of approaches to living with and curing PD and will be a valuable experience for everyone who attends.

Educational Courses The pre-congress educational courses on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 will offer scientific sessions for researchers and clinicians as well as a Fundamentals of PD course to help explain the science of PD to non-scientific communities. This course will also help give first-time attendees at a meeting of this kind the skills needed to get the most out of the meeting. The opening ceremony, following these courses, will launch the WPC.
